Professional brochures are essential to many businsses still as a means of collateral marketing materials. Many are handed out in offices, restaurants, trade shows and more. They are a direct line of one-way communication with potential customers
Each brochure seeks out a different demographic audience and not all brochures are intended for everyone. Most people wouldn't give a child a brochure about industrial farm equipment, for example. So knowing your audience for your brochure is an important first step in making sure that you're on the right track as a designer. YOUR JOB is to determine that demographic so your client will make the most money possible form his/her investment in your design services for this brochure. You don't get "paid" until your client is 100% satisfied with your product.
Below is a list of classmates and their assignments. Find YOURS and do YOURS. You will likely be asked to critique but for now, worry about getting yours started. You will need to visit the webpages Google provides you for content and photos. They are okay to use since these are your clients.

Q: How do I get started?
A: Google your museum!
Q: What application/s should I use?
A: Which ever ones you need to use.
Q: What if I want to use InDesign?
A: Go ahead, I would use it for this.
BUT you don't have to.
Q: Why do these places need brochures?
A: Advertising/Marketing & collectible value for the brochure/s in years to come. Did the Vintage Vegas pieces teach you nothing?
Q: What if there aren't many photos of my museum or theme park?
A: Find ones that have been taken by visitors using Google Earth.
Q: I don't like what I was assigned...
A: Your boss won't care if you like your job or not, you are expected to do it if you want to get paid.
*** This assignment is as much about research as it is about design. You need to have rough sketches done in one class session, then you need to implement them, and yes YOU MUST WRITE COPY! You can take some from the site but some must be YOU adding to it using EXCITING LANGUAGE like this is THE MOST AMAZING place to visit ever... SELL IT!
