THIS WEEK 3 assignments
Andy Warhol Project
1. Get an image of a human - not a cartoon - on a fairly monochromatic background. (That means there is not a lot going on in the background and it is one color.)
2. Crop the image to allow it to be portrait size - roughly. More tall than wide.
3. Using THRESHOLD, reduce to a black and white image.
Image > Adjustments > Threshold
4. Use the MAGIC WAND and select white areas, then go to: Select > Similar to all white areas.
5. Use the LASSO TOOL to remove the highlight from a section.
6. Then FILL the remaining section with a bold color, like a red, yellow or a bright green. YOU MAY NOT USE BLACK OR WHITE.
Edit > Fill > foreground color (other choices)
Fill remaining section in the same manner with a COMPLIMENTARY COLOR.
STOP HERE.
Get a grade to level up.
7. Now duplicate the background layer TWICE.
(You will only be able to do this in the LAYERS pallette and will not see a visible difference in your artwork, only in the layers.)
8. You will need to increase the CANVAS SIZE.
ONLY in width.
Image > Canvas Size
9. Move the copied layers to the left and the right of the original.
10. Select and color the duplicated images using the MAGIC WAND and the Select > Similar command.
