FAQs

Does Ms. Kennedy hate students who sag?

Ms. Kennedy doesn't hate anyone. She however feels that students should have more self-respect and want to show respect to those around them by dressing in a manner that the level of offense will be minimally impactful if at all.

Why are we being picked on?

No one is picking on you. Pull up your pants before you enter the classroom and keep them up while in class.

I can dress how I want to!

Yes you can. "Can" implies ability and certainly you have the ability to dress with your pants to your knees. However "MAY" is a permissionary statement and you MAY NOT wear your pants like that in this classroom.

Why does Ms. Kennedy care how we wear our pants?

Ms. Kennedy doesn't wish to see your rump in any way, shape or form. She also does not wish to see your undies, shorts, etc. that you are wearing under your pants.
Additionally Ms. Kennedy teaches Graphic Design, it is a part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program here at Rancho High School. As a part of the CTE program, it is her job to insure you are workplace ready. Attire is a big part of the workplace and wearing your clothing appropriately is the first step in your education. When you work for someone else, you often do not get to choose what you wear and how you wear it. This course is perhaps your first taste of adulthood and learning to cope with adjusting to the demands of your workplace, which right now, is this classroom. That is why Ms. Kennedy cares about how you wear your pants.

PANTS

Yes. Pants. Yours need to be pulled up for this class, now and always. The diagram to the left explains where the field of Graphic Design stands on this issue.

We are professionals and as such we will conduct ourselves in a professional manner, in the way we speak, act and in the clothes we wear and how we wear them.

In this course, you are required to wear your pants at a professional level: above your hips. Sagging is not permitted now nor will it be permitted in the future.

The diagram shows what actions will be taken should you decide that the rules do not apply to you, because friends, they do.

WARNING:

You will receive a verbal warning the first time your undies decide to show in class. The next time, you will receive a written warning and the third time you will be written up for insubordination.

INDECENT EXPOSURE:

If your buttocks are showing, cresting atop your undies, shorts, etc., you will be given a verbal warning the first time. The second time you will be written up for indecent exposure.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT:

If you decide to wear your pants below your buttocks, you will be written up for disorderly conduct without any verbal warning whatsoever.

ADDITIONALLY:

Your rights are not being violated by being asked to pull your pants up to a professional level. Please be prepared to be in compliance.
